What is it about new years resolutions that make them so hard to keep?!
The gym instructor screaming at our class to make sure they book their place, instead of just showing up; exhausted her reason that “we all know how busy January gets, with people making new years resolutions.”
Cheekily adding, “we also know that it will only last till March.”
Why is that? Why do resolutions start off so well, and fall within weeks, or a few short months?
Using that analogy of getting fit, and eating healthy; many appear to get discouraged when they fail to say no to that forbidden slice of cake, and give in to temptation.
The truth we should remember is that no matter what your resolution is. It isn’t about how many times you fall, but how many times you get back up.
Failure is never final.
So don’t get discouraged if you find yourself up against a piece of cake five days into your resolution. Temptation will come. They’re will always be someone eating cake when you’ve made a pact to loose weight.
Instead of making a resolution, make a commitment that says; if I should fall down. I will pick myself up, and carry on. Never giving up.
A commitment last longer than a resolution; so just change it.
