Staying connected through Corvid-19

For anyone looking to find creative ways to stay connected, reconnect, or reach out to friends and loved ones, we’ve pulled a few of the top apps and website options for you to stay visually and socially connected. It’s important for everyone to play their part to protect themselves and others from this virus, and whilst we may not be able to meet in the same place right now, we can and should stay connected in some way. Even if that’s picking up a phone, or sending a text. So other than the long standing phone call and text message, here are a few other ideas for taking our group meetings and hang outs online.

  1. Google Duo

It’s FREE and accessible via any desktop, laptop, smart phone, and tablet. You can get up to 8 people on a call at once.

  1. Whatsapp

Many of us use this already as a text and group chat platform but don’t forget it also has the capability to hold video and audio calls.

  1. Facebook Messenger

You can get up to 50 people on a call. This is likely one of the easiest routes for group chats since most of us probably have a facebook account. Just log into your messenger or click on the messenger icon on the top right hand side of your Facebook home page. Select a new group and then add those you wish to add to that group. All you need to do is click on the video or telephone icon to make your call.

Whatever you do, make sure you stay connected. Let’s pull together even if it’s from a distance.
